Don't Diet

Forget diet adopt new eating habits
Crash dieting or selective dieting plans dont work for long, as well as they are not good for the overall health.

Usually a dieting is planned for a certain period of time aiming to achieve the target within that duration.

That summer boating trip or day at the lake is planned in a couple months and to look absolutely perfect, the best possible solution is to keep yourself away from your favorite food for time being.
When a dieter is somewhat satisfied and tired of not being able to eat his/her favorite food, there is risk of going back to the old pattern. This is what makes dieting an awful habit and crash diet a risk to health in turn one ends up putting on more weight.
A few months down the lane one indulge oneself in another diet plan in lieu of a new event. The crash dieting begins again and the cycle goes on. This is called rebound effect which affects metabolism for the long-term that ends up gaining weight even faster each time.
To obviate from such temporary patterns adopt more permanent solutions such as new eating habits in other words, make permanent decisions to cut out certain foods and replace them with new ones. However, adding your favorite food in the new plan from time to time is not a bad idea altogether.
A New Wave of Thought
This permanent lifestyle change eliminates the rebound effect. One might ask what if I want to lose the weight fast. Loosing weight fast means one is keeping oneself from indispensable food needs and increases the risk of gaining weight if one starts eating the wrong foods again. Loosing 30 pounds in 2 months is not realistic and healthy.
The key to a healthy, effective weight loss plan is one that consistently cuts out the saturated fats, involves exercise at least 3 days/week and increases the amount of protein and fiber consumption. Ignore 2 to 3 meal a day diet plan that avoid all fats and carbs and eat more healthy meals in smaller proportion as digestion boosts metabolism.
Body requires carbs and some fats in restrained consumptions which mean you can eat all of your favorite food in moderate quantity. New eating habits simple mean making better choices which in other words means one does not have to starve.
Eating Healthy Foods
The new eating habits plan is not a diet plan but a permanent lifestyle which gives reward in the form of weight loss. Following are a few healthy lifestyle tips;
- Take whole grain bread in place of white bread.
- Skimmed or Soy milk a heart healthy product containing lots of protein is a better choice instead of whole milk.
- Prefer eating brown rice on white rice.
- Drinking plain water is a healthy choice, instead of choosing the soda.
- Eat turkey bacon instead of pork bacon
- Take fruit juice having low/no sugar.
- Eat oatmeal instead of cereals high in sugar
- Eat baked potato chips instead of regular chips.
- Eat freshly done popcorns instead of taking the ones done in a microwave.
- For a light snack eat almonds instead of potato chips. If the craving for potato chips is higher, try to get hold of the ones low in fat, and try munching a few.
- Eat whole wheat pasta instead of white pasta
- When you buy meats, choose the leaner varieties
- When you go to a fast food restaurant, grilled chicken or a salad should be your choice.
