What Is The Cause of a Stomach Fat?

Once you are ready to burn the calories, that have caused some extra fat especially around your waist, you must also have a first hand knowledge of the working of your body and most importantly the reason of your bulging tummy.

A conventional thought would justify the bulge as a result of lack of physical activity and proper eating habits, but there might be some other reasons too, that would be:

Flat Stomach � Menopause May be a cause

The body fat is easily stored especially around the waist and stomach in women after the age of 40 years, especially when menopause occurs.

Flat Stomach � It could be Genitic

Human body is divided into two types: 1. Apple type
2. Pear type


You can determine your body type by following this simple rule. A pear shaped body type is the one in which the fat is stored in lower parts of the body. You would find yourself among the apple-shaped type, if you have a tendency to store fat around your tummy and in the middle part of your body.

You can easily determine your genes type by taking into account the body types of your relatives, i.e. how many of them are overweight and what body types are they? If most of them tend to be fat around the middle part then it is likely for you to gain more weight at the middle area, making you and apple-shaped body type, genetically.

Improper Digestion will not help your flat stomach

Stress can also be the cause of improper digestion, as, there are some gastrointestinal problems being originated from stress, leaving the abdomen full of gas, or bloated. It has been observed that those with bulging belly are often hit by the bloating of stomach being caused by the gas.

Slow rate of Metabolism also has been know to hinde the Flat Stomach process.

Metabolism or the burning of calories plays a very important role in cutting down the extra fat from your body. The older we are, the slower the metabolism would become, making it hard to burn the calories without any trouble, as it had been at the younger age. This slow metabolism also causes the extra fat, mainly around the tummy.

Ascertaining Your Cause

As mentioned above, the main reason of the excessive fat especially around the abdomen is caused by improper food intake, and lack of a good physical activity and exercise. All of us must be aware of these fat-creating facts.

There are, though other basis too, as have been discussed above, which can be blamed for a protruding tummy. It is, thus, important to narrow down your knowledge and determine the cause of your tummy fat.

Stress can cause tummy fat

The worst enemy of your overall health, the stress causes not only a mental damage but also makes your whole body fat and big, especially when you are deeply engrossed in your stress, overlooking the harm.

A hormone named, Cortisol is released by your stressful body, which causes your liver to make excess sugar. This sugar is not the requirement of your body, but it, in turn, makes you feel hungry. Resultantly, when you eat more, these extra calories go directly to your tummy.

Flat Stomach - Poor Posture

Most of us might not be aware of the fact that a poor posture is the cause of your �pot belly� look. To check your belly and your posture, try the following: Stand with a hunch back in front of the mirror and take a look at your tummy. Now look into the mirror standing straight and erect, and see the difference in your protruding belly while you were standing in a hunched position.

There is a possibility of extra fat around your abdomen, but you would find your stomach a little bit flattened than before, by only correcting your posture.

Late Night Bad Eating Habits Defiantly causes tummy fat

Give your body a chance to digest your food fully and it is highly advisable to refrain from eating within three hours of your bedtime.

Having a full stomach, when you go to bed, is also a main cause for storing the fat around your abdomen. Try eating something healthy, if you MUST eat late at night, e.g., a banana or a few almonds.
